Chronicles of a Gorean Master I – Introduction

Tal everyone,

For those of you that know me (and for those that have been following the blog since I started writing it a few years ago), I’m what can be called a ‘man of facts’, much more inclined to analyse how things effectively are than people’s opinions on them.

When some colleagues asked me to start compiling my view of the Gorean Lifestyle and Philosophy I resisted a bit at first (I’m not very fond of writing), but then decided to try to do my part and organize some information that would help those that live or want to live as Goreans on Earth, and that is how this Blog started.

I eagerly started to compile information from all sources that I could find with the desire to develop a Hub for Gorean Knowledge and information about our lifestyle. I quickly realized that, despite how virtuous my intentions could be, just presenting fact, quotes and literal descriptions of the Philosophy would fall terribly short of my intended objectives.

Two of the quotes that inspire me are “The best way to learn is to teach.”(Frank Oppenheimer) and “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” (Albert Einstein)

With these thoughts in mind, I realized that to truly explain the Gorean Lifestyle we need to go beyond how the Philosophy is narrated in the books and venture into the realm of explaining how that Philosophy is put into practice in a society that so radically condemns the Natural Order.

To reach that goal, over the next posts of this series, I’ll share a bit about myself, how I came to discover that I am a Gorean and how I’ve committed to develop and implement a lifestyle that is coherent with the Gorean Principles and Philosophy!

Not sure where this path will lead, but I’m sure I’ll enjoy the process and hope you do too! 🙂
